Our Story

My name is Amanda Bordeaux, and I’m a Raleigh native. I love to travel, I never meet a stranger and I’m always up for new experiences. My passion for kids started at an early age as I had opportunities to volunteer in my church nursery and help care for my younger cousins. By age 12, after taking the Red Cross Babysitting Course I was an official babysitter. During my time at Meredith College, I had built a network of approximately 30 families – too many to babysit for alone! In August of 2004, the beginning of my senior year, I would frequently find myself running up and down the hall of my dorm asking for a weekend sitter for one of my families. I knew there had to be a more effective way to match families with sitters! After a bit of brainstorming and helpful advice, “Amanda’s Babysitting Service” was born, which later became known as “Stellar Sitters.”

After realizing there were babysitters wanting to work and families in need of babysitters in the Wake County area, I decided to be the “bridge” to connect them. The service began with “The Babysitting List” and has expanded to include additional services and packages. Our goal is to serve families, churches and organizations by connecting them with babysitters in the Raleigh, Cary, Apex and greater Wake County area.

Operating Stellar Sitters has been an incredible learning opportunity and has allowed me to meet many amazing people throughout the years. It brings me joy to be able to provide quality childcare for area families and churches. My goal is to help people; therefore, I am constantly looking for ways to improve Stellar Sitters. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your babysitting needs, questions, ideas and feedback.

I look forward to serving you!
