Meet April!

April Johnson

My name is April J. and I have been with Stellar Sitters since June 2016. I am 27 years old and I will be graduating from Campbell University’s Pharmacy Program in May 2017. I grew up in a small town by the name of Chase City, VA. I completed my undergraduate courses at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA as a Biology Major followed by a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research at Campbell University. I began babysitting at the age of 15 and have continuously been doing so since then. I have experience with all ages of children and have usually been requested to watch at least 3 children at one time. I am very involved in my church especially with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and have overseen large groups of children by myself for many years. My hobbies include traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading, and participating in community events. I absolutely adore working with children and being able to incorporate educational material while entertaining them as well!

Meet Mary!

Hi there! My name is Mary G,, I attend NC State University during the school year pursuing an Elementary Education degree with a concentration in STEM (Science Technology Education and Math). I’ll be a senior this year! I love dogs, the outdoors, painting, bike riding, dance, education and travel. You will find me with my nose in a book before in front of the tv! I started childcare at the age of 13 and the rest was history! Over the past 7 years I have built experience as an occasional sitter, summer nanny, k-5 classroom intern, and a dance instructor with specific involvement in preschool and competitive programs. I am passionate about working with children and look forward to a life dedicated to helping children grow and learn! I am a firm believer that childcare and education is a lifestyle, not a “job.”  I am always ready for adventurous play with children of all ages. I’m enthusiastic about the opportunity to work under Stellar Sitters and look forward to meeting some great kiddos!

Meet Meredith!

My name is Meredith C., I am 22 years old, and I am from Richmond, Virginia! I have just started working with Stellar Sitters and will be graduating from North Carolina State University this May with a Communication major. I began caring for children when I was 12 years old and have continued doing so ever since. I have experience with all ages and have sat for up to six children by myself. For the past year, I was on staff part time at my church here in Raleigh as Elementary Director of our children’s ministry. This job only grew my love for children and desire to work with them upon graduating! I enjoy babysitting because I adore the innocence and livelihood of children, and love getting to play just a small, influential part in their lives. While babysitting, I love playing outside, doing arts and crafts, going on fun trips to the park, museum, or pool, and baking special treats with the kids! Outside of babysitting, I am very involved with my church, Providence Baptist, where I am still involved in the children’s ministry as well as our student ministry. I absolutely love to cook and bake, be creative, and share the love of Christ with children in Raleigh and abroad!

Meet Barrett!

My name is Barrett R. and I am 24 years old. I just recently started working with Stellar Sitters. I graduated from Meredith College in May 2014 with a Child Development major and K-6 license. I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old, after I completed a certified babysitter course from Wake-Med. I have experience with all ages of children and have sat for up to five at a time and more with group settings. I currently teach first grade in Wake County. My passion for working with children is evident based on my career choice. I love the way young children’s minds work. I believe their kind hearted nature can teach adults an appreciation for life in a new way. The spirit and hearts that children have can change the world. Working with children allows me to appreciate life in a happy care-free way. I love doing arts and crafts, playing outside, playing games, and taking kids to museums. As a first grade teacher, I have taken a lot of field trips to different places in the Raleigh area. Outside of babysitting I enjoy going to church, the beach with my family, traveling to see new places, and learning a new hobby.
