“Meet a Sitter” Monday

Meet Diane!

Diane

My name is Diane M. and I am 28 years old. The most important thing you should know about me is that I have been a follower of Jesus Christ since I was 14 years old. He is God’s Son who came to this earth to live a sinless life and serve as a substitute for our sins by dying on a cross and rising from the dead. He now sits in heaven at God’s right hand and one day he will return to earth to bring his followers to heaven with him, so I believe we should live in obedience to the Bible and look for ways to bring him the attention He deserves. Having a relationship with God through Jesus is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I would love to tell you more about Him anytime.
I would also like to share with you about some things that I do. I am currently working at Governor Pat McCrory’s Office in Raleigh as Special Assistant for Administration and the Page program coordinator for high school students. I am a former student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest where I studied counseling and ministry leadership. Prior to working for state government, I worked as a children’s minister at StartingPoint Church where I oversaw all of the children’s programs. I graduated from Campbell University in May of 2009 with my Bachelor of Social work degree. I have been working with Stellar Sitters since November of 2010, but I have been babysitting since I was 11 years old. I love children and I have always felt a special connection with them! I have experience working with children who are newborns to age 17. While babysitting, I love doing arts and crafts and playing games as well as going on outings to the park, museum, or library.
Outside of babysitting, I am active in the community. I worked as a Social Ministries intern at the Salvation Army of Wake County my senior year of college. I also worked as a Resident Assistant of an apartment community and Resident Director of a freshman dorm for the student and residence life office at Campbell for three years. I worked as a camp counselor and missions coordinator at Camp Mundo Vista for two summers during college. I also worked as a children and families ministries coordinator at a church. I am very involved in local churches, like Christ Baptist and Providence Baptist, where I help to lead the student ministry, college ministry and singles ministry. I am also the Young Women’s Network coordinator for the Woman’s Missionary Union of North Carolina.
I also love to have fun hanging out with friends and traveling to cool places in North Carolina and other states around the country. I love music and I frequently go to concerts in the Raleigh area. I also love to dance and I danced for 15 years of my life. I was also a cheerleader for 3 years. I also do some writing, event planning, and photography on the side. I LOVE the beach and the mountains and it is such a blessing that we have both in North Carolina. I especially love waterfalls! This picture of me was taken this past Christmas in front of Bridal Veil Falls near Brevard, NC. Thanks for letting me share a little bit about myself and I look forward to continuing to meet other Stellar Sitters and families!
